Describe Yourself:
Until this year I've been teaching science and math. I got very interested in the extraordinary, not-generally-appreciated scale of the world about 15 years ago, which led to a general interest in the wondrous nature of the world (including the one who seeing it), which eventually led to a book for kids (and adults who feel like kids when it comes to understanding the world): "Seeing the World with a Sense of Wonder: Ideas and Activities from Science and the Art for Children from Nine to Ninety-Nine.
Lately I've been working on fixing my house (including some major problems like a leak in the water line and the need for a new roof). But also fidning time, in my (possibly temporary) retirement to work on my watercolor sketching (see my photos).

On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:
Anybody who has a lively interest in trying to understand the world more deeply, from any point view, whether it be spritual, scientific, artistic ... I'm not fussy! I remember hearing a quote from Richard Feynman saying to the effect that he was interested in anybody who had good questions to ask about the world, who was as interested in things as he was. I can't claim to have the kind of unstoppable interest in things that Feynman had, but it certainly a worthwhile goal!
